Medea Galligan earned her BA in Environmental Science from Clark University in Worcester, MA in 1989. She then served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay, South America from 1989 to 1992. Through her continued education and experience, she developed an awareness of the importance of nutrition and preventative health and decided to pursue a higher degree in nutrition. Medea earned a master’s degree in Nutrition from Oklahoma State University in 1998, specializing in digestive, immune and hormonal imbalances.
Ms. Galligan began her practice as a health coach in South Florida in 1999, working with several holistic health doctors to help their clients not just treat diseases, but create a state of optimal health. In 2003, she established her business as Healthy Lifestyle Concepts LLC. In 2012, she graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City and became a Registered Yoga Teacher, opening a yoga studio and health coaching practice in Burnsville, NC. In 2014, Medea opened the first organic café in Asheville, NC, Medea’s Real Food Café. Medea Galligan has published over 70 researched and referenced articles on health and nutrition and is a regular contributor for many local and national publications.
For the last 20 years, Medea Galligan has supported her clients in naturally healing their digestive, immune, hormonal and weight loss issues, as well as joint pain and inflammation, through a combination of education, support and guidance. As part of the integrative medical team at Renew Regenerative Medicine, Medea is a Wellness Educator on behalf of Renew in the community in addition to her role as a Nutritional Counselor with individual patients. Medea is committed to helping patients at Renew heal their bodies naturally so they can live a healthy and fulfilling life, free from chronic illness and pain.
